GE Frame6 (MS6001) Gas Turbine is a single shaft gas turbine used in a variety of applications including mechanical drive for large compressor trains; simple cycle and combined cycle; base load and peaking power generation; industrial and co-generation, with nominal output range of 42MW.

This turbine is fuel-flexible, and can operate on natural gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), distillate and treated residual oil.

The shaft of this turbine rotates at 5,163 rpm in power generation application and at 5,111 rpm in mechanical drive application, counterclockwise as viewed looking downstream.

This Gas Turbine consists of the following main components:

• The compressor.

The compressor of this turbine is the seventeen stages axial flow compressor with variable Inlet Guide Vanes or IGVs. The ambient air is compressed to a pressure ratio of twelve to one or (12/1).

• The combustion system.

The combustion of this turbine is a reverse flow type with 10 cone annular combustion chambers, arranged around the periphery of the compressor discharge casing.

• The turbine section.

The turbine section is consists of three-stage turbine turbine with air-cooled 1st and 2nd stage nozzles and buckets.

• The bearings.

The rotor of this gas turbine is supported by three bearings, these bearings hold rotor in the radial direction by journal bearings and the axial direction by thrust bearings.

• The exhaust assembly.

The exhaust assembly consists of two parts the exhaust frame and the exhaust diffuser.

The exhaust frame consists of inner and outer cylinder connected together with several struts.

The inner cylinder support the turbine bearing.

The lower part of the outer cylinder features mounting points for the turbine aft legs and the jib key.
